JUST ARRIVED!!!

These collies or shelties have just arrived in SWCSR. Each will be vetted and fostered until SWCSR knows enough about them to write a bio. That process can take a few weeks. Then they will move to the Collies and Shelties Needing Homes page. So click on this link to see if the collie or sheltie you last saw on this page is now ready for adoption.

DC – ROUGH COLLIE MIX

Sex: Male
Color: Sable and White
Age: 4
Preliminary Bio: DC is a rough collie mix that came to us as an owner release. DC was basically an outside dog prior to coming into rescue and with little human interaction. His owner who had alcohol and medical issues apologized for not doing more with him. DC was free fed and was at 102 pounds upon rescue intake. An estimated 30 pounds over his ideal weight. He was not leash trained and uses all his strength to resist any movement on the leash. We will work on that. He has had no vet care but remarkably was in pretty good health with the exception of having hookworms which were immediately treated and his vaccinations which have been brought current. He was not neutered but that will be addressed shortly. We have had him groomed for perhaps the first time in his life and removed his dreadlocks. We will work on his housetraining as he is now an inside dog. DC has been fine with the other dogs in the foster home and particularly his mother, Sarah, who was also relinquished to our rescue. We will get DC used to having regular and attentive human interaction and we are sure that he will make someone a great dog. For more information aboutDC, please contact Bill at bkferrell@cox.net
